FAA at Studio C:
Allegory
July 31 - September 21, 2025

Call for Art
FAA member artists (with Artist-level paid membership) are invited to submit entries for an exhibit at our gallery in downtown Frankfort inside Studio C.
Frankfort, IL 60423

Unveil deeper meanings in 'Allegory,' where symbolism and storytelling come to life through art. This exhibit invites artists to explore the power of metaphor, using imagery to convey complex ideas, emotions, and moral lessons. Whether drawing from myth, history, or personal narratives, we encourage works that speak beyond the surface, offering viewers layers of interpretation. Submit your art and become part of a visual dialogue rich with hidden significance.

Here are some examples of artworks that artists might submit for this exhibit, but as always, think about how the theme might work with your artwork. The themes of members' exhibits are meant to inspire and challenge, but not to exclude.

-
Personification of Seasons – A painting where each season is represented by a human figure, showing changes in life.
-
Mythological Scene – An artwork depicting a classic myth, reimagined to explore modern-day themes.
-
Symbolic Still Life – Objects arranged in a way that reflects a moral lesson or personal philosophy.
-
Portrait with Elements of Nature – A figure surrounded by natural symbols (e.g., fire, water, plants) to represent different facets of personality.
-
Urban Allegory – A cityscape where buildings and people take on symbolic meanings, representing society or community.
