FAA Member Artists Exhibition
FAA member artists (with Artist-level paid membership) are invited to submit entries for an exhibit at our gallery in downtown Frankfort inside Studio C.
Heart & Hearth
At the end of the year, we gather around what sustains us — love, light, and creativity. Heart & Hearth celebrates the places and people that make us feel rooted and inspired. It’s about the glow of belonging, the warmth of shared moments, and the sparks that ignite when we create from the heart. Artists are invited to explore comfort, connection, and the idea of home — wherever they find it.
How your work might fit:
Realism: Depict cozy interiors, family traditions, shared meals, or quiet moments of comfort.
Photography: Capture scenes that radiate warmth — candlelight, gatherings, or handmade beauty.
Abstract: Express the feeling of home through soft color palettes, organic shapes, or compositions that evoke comfort and care.
Examples to inspire you
The examples below illustrate how artists might respond to the theme. They are not requirements and should not limit your interpretation. Member exhibit themes are meant to inspire and challenge, not exclude.
Kitchen Table – The heart of home, glowing with shared light.
Firelight Evening – Figures gathered in warmth and conversation.
Beloved Object – A meaningful keepsake, rendered with care.
Homecoming – A welcoming doorway, porch, or familiar place.
Circle of Friends – A portrait of community and belonging.

Special Opportunity: Lincolnway City Lifestyle Cover
Artists entering Heart & Hearth may also choose to have their artwork considered for the March 2027 “Home” issue cover of Lincolnway City Lifestyle magazine.
March is the magazine's annual Home issue, and the 2027 edition will explore the psychology of home — how our homes, surroundings, and sense of place affect the way we feel, think, and experience our lives. This theme has a natural connection to Heart & Hearth, with its focus on home, belonging, comfort, and connection.
Artists who choose to participate are encouraged to consider this editorial theme when selecting or creating their Heart & Hearth entry. Artwork might explore ideas such as comfort and safety, belonging, identity, memory, family and relationships, personal space, familiar objects, the emotional atmosphere of a home, or what “home” means to us. Interpretations may be literal or abstract.
Lincolnway City Lifestyle will review participating entries using the submitted images, with artwork also viewed in person during the exhibit as part of the selection process. A small group of finalists will be selected based on the artwork, its connection to the 2027 Home issue theme, and its suitability for the magazine's cover format. The finalists will then be presented to Lincolnway City Lifestyle Partners for the final selection.
The selection will be made during the run of the exhibit. The winning artist will be notified in time to participate in the accompanying article, with the cover and artist feature appearing in the March 2027 Home issue.
The selected artwork will be professionally photographed and featured on the cover. The issue will also include an article about the winning artist and their artwork, giving readers an opportunity to learn more about the artist, their work, and the piece selected for the cover.
Participation in this special opportunity is optional and will not affect participation in Heart & Hearth. All FAA member artists entering the exhibit may opt in, regardless of where they live.

Guidlines

FAA member artists may submit one original work to be included in the show.

Most subjects, styles, and techniques will be accepted, from realistic to abstract.

Submitted works can be in any medium, 2D or 3D, except for video.

Hanging works must be no larger than 40" x 40" without prior permission.

Non-hanging 3D works may be any size provided they fit well in the gallery, either free-standing or on a pedestal.

Unless you hear otherwise, consider your entry accepted for the members' show.
Rules

The exhibit is open to active FAA Member Artists.

To participate in this exhibit, member artists must complete the online entry form below and upload a photo of their artwork.

The uploaded image will be used on the FAA website for display, and if the piece is listed for sale, for purchase. If Not for Sale, the photo may still appear but marked unavailable.

2-dimensional work must be properly wired and ready to hang. No sawtooth hangers. Wires should not show above the work. Work should be framed unless created on a gallery-wrapped canvas or other finished substrate. Wrapped edges must be finished. Fiber art is accepted, but must include a method to hang it on our hook system.

Attach a label to the back of your work (or bottom of 3D works) with your name and the piece’s title.

Curators reserve the right to refuse work that does not meet requirements or is considered too fragile for display.

All work remains on exhibit for the full duration of the show. Sold work remains in place until the show ends. FAA will arrange pick-up with the buyer afterward.

Unless requested otherwise, FAA may use images of exhibited work for publicity and educational purposes.
Fees and Commission

There is a nonrefundable $15 participation fee. After submitting your entry, please make your payment.

FAA retains 30% commission on each work sold.

Work may be marked as Not for Sale.

Delivery of artwork: Monday, November 16, 2026, 9–11 AM or 4–6 PM
Opening reception: Thursday, November 19, 2026, 6:00–7:30 PM
