Help shape the creative community you want to be part of. Pick an idea below, put your name on it, and lead a simple, low‑cost meetup. We’ll help spread the word. You bring the spark.
Why this page exists
Members often ask for more gatherings. Our small, volunteer board can’t run them all. This page invites you to take the lead on the things you want to see. FAA will promote your meetup and help with simple logistics if needed.
How it works
-
Choose an idea (from the list below or propose your own).
-
Sign up at the bottom with your name, email, dates you’re considering, and a short description.
-
Confirm the basics with FAA (room, access, any supplies, promo details).
-
Host the meetup — keep it simple and welcoming.
-
Share a quick recap (1–3 photos + one sentence) so we can celebrate and keep momentum.
What “leading” means (quick checklist)
-
Set a date/time and scope.
-
Coordinate door access and closing checklist.
-
Bring minimal supplies or ask attendees to BYO.
-
Welcome people, start on time, take a group photo.
-
Tidy the space, turn off lights, and lock up after.
FAA’s part: We’ll support your meetup as needed and help spread the word when appropriate. If it’s open to members or the public, we can post it on the FAA calendar, share it in our newsletter, on social media, and provide a simple promo graphic.
If it’s a private or small gathering, we’ll simply cheer you on behind the scenes.

Who Can Attend & Donations
Who can attend?
Member-led meetups can be:
-
Members only
-
Private / by invitation
-
Open to everyone (public)
-
Some combination of the above (for example, members plus invited guests)

The facilitating member chooses the audience and is responsible for basic hosting—setting the date, welcoming attendees, tidying up, and closing the space.

Donations for public or guest events
If your meetup includes non-members, please encourage a small donation to support FAA’s volunteer-run programs.
-
In person: A cash donation box is located at the coffee station.
-
Virtual tip jar: A QR code/link is posted on the pin board at Underground.
Suggested wording for facilitators
“This meetup is member-led and free to attend. If you’re able, please drop a few dollars in the FAA donation box by the coffee station or use the virtual tip jar on the Underground pin board. Your support keeps these community events going—thank you!”

Reminder
All meetups should be welcoming, inclusive, and simple to run. If you need the space unlocked or have a question, contact FAA a few days in advance.
