Enhancing Our Community

Barn Quilts
Art and Agriculture
Barn Quilts bring the art and agricultural communities together in celebration of American heritage. We are happy to be a part of the growing Barn Quilt movement in the United States. This is an ongoing project. If you have a barn in need of a barn quilt, CLICK HERE.

Fly Together
Community Collaboration
Fly Together was an art collaboration with the Village of Frankfort, The Frankfort Arts Association, Frankfort School District 157C, and Friends of the Library. FAA board member, Jaime Maisuria, envisioned this project using repurposed pages from books donated by the Friends of the Library. With the help and generosity of the teachers at Chelsea Intermediate School, 3rd-5th-grade students created origami butterflies which were displayed at the Frankfort Village Hall. The installation highlighted the Illinois Monarch Project, which collaborates with public and private partners, to protect and enhance existing habitats, and establishes new habitats that support monarch butterflies and other pollinators.

Four newspaper boxes were donated by Chicago Tribune, and Home Depot donated the use of a truck for transportation. FAA artists painted the boxes as community works of art.
