FAA Member Artists Exhibition

FAA member artists (with Artist-level paid membership) are invited to submit entries for an exhibit at our gallery in downtown Frankfort inside Studio C.

14 Hickory Street #14B
Frankfort, IL 60423

Intersections

Where paths, ideas, and perspectives meet. Intersections explores connection, collaboration, and the beauty found at crossing points — between people, disciplines, and experiences. It’s about moments of discovery when different worlds overlap to form something new.

How your work might fit:

  • Realism: Depict places where lives meet — roads, bridges, conversations, shared spaces.

  • Photography: Capture overlapping reflections, crowds, or architectural junctions.

  • Abstract: Express intersection through layered color, pattern, or form — visual metaphors for connection.

Examples to inspire you

The examples below illustrate how artists might respond to the theme. They are not requirements and should not limit your interpretation. Member exhibit themes are meant to inspire and challenge, not exclude.

  1. Crossroads – A literal or symbolic meeting of paths.

  2. Reflected Window – Layers of inside and outside blending together.

  3. Street Corner – Everyday life where people’s worlds overlap.

  4. Converging Lines – Shapes or colors meeting at unexpected angles.

  5. Meeting of Minds – Visual representation of collaboration or shared ideas.

Guidlines

  • FAA member artists may submit one original work to be included in the show.

  • Most subjects, styles, and techniques will be accepted, from realistic to abstract.

  • Submitted works can be in any medium, 2D or 3D, except for video.

  • Hanging works must be no larger than 40" x 40" without prior permission.

  • Non-hanging 3D works may be any size provided they fit well in the gallery, either free-standing or on a pedestal.

  • Unless you hear otherwise, consider your entry accepted for the members' show.

Rules

  • The exhibit is open to active FAA Member Artists.

  • To participate in this exhibit, member artists must complete the online entry form below and upload a photo of their artwork.

  • The uploaded image will be used on the FAA website for display, and if the piece is listed for sale, for purchase. If Not for Sale, the photo may still appear but marked unavailable.

  • 2-dimensional work must be properly wired and ready to hang. No sawtooth hangers. Wires should not show above the work. Work should be framed unless created on a gallery-wrapped canvas at least 1.5" thick. Wrapped edges must be finished. Fiber art is accepted, but must include a method to hang it on our hook system.

  • Attach a label to the back of your work (or bottom of 3D works) with your name and the piece’s title.

  • Curators reserve the right to refuse work that does not meet requirements or is considered too fragile for display.

  • All work remains on exhibit for the full duration of the show. Sold work remains in place until the show ends. FAA will arrange pick-up with the buyer afterward.

  • Unless requested otherwise, FAA may use images of exhibited work for publicity and educational purposes.

Fees and Commission

  • There is a nonrefundable $15 participation fee. After submitting your entry, please make your payment.

  • FAA retains 30% commission on each work sold.

  • Work may be marked as Not for Sale.

FAA Unified Loan & Consignment Agreement

*By submitting this form, you agree to the following terms for loaning and consigning your artwork to the Frankfort Arts Association (“FAA”). Submitting this form counts as your digital signature for all terms listed below.

1. Exhibition & Display

  • You agree to loan your artwork to FAA for the full duration of the exhibit.

  • FAA will exercise the same care with your artwork that it uses for comparable property of its own.

  • FAA may withdraw artwork from the exhibition at any time for safety, space, or curatorial reasons.

  • FAA has the right to decline artwork that does not reflect the exhibit theme or does not resemble the submitted images.

2. Delivery, Pick-Up & Handling

  • You are responsible for delivering the artwork to the gallery by the scheduled drop-off date and for picking it up at the designated time.

  • All shipping or transportation costs are your responsibility.

  • Artwork left more than 7 days after the pick-up date may incur a storage fee of $5 per day.

  • Artwork left 60 days or more becomes the property of FAA.

3. Photography & Promotion

By entering the exhibit, you grant FAA permission to:

  • photograph your artwork,

  • telecast or reproduce images for publicity related to the exhibition,

  • use images in FAA’s newsletter, website, social media, and educational materials.

This includes promoting the exhibit and FAA in general. Your artwork may appear in group marketing materials without additional approval.

4. Insurance & Liability

FAA will exercise reasonable care in handling your artwork. FAA will insure the artwork under its miscellaneous liability policy for the actual cash value of the work only if FAA is found legally liable. The policy excludes damage due to wear and tear, gradual deterioration, nuclear reaction, radiation, radioactive contamination, and risks of war. If the artwork can be replaced or repaired to the artist’s specifications, FAA’s liability is limited to the cost of such replacement or repair. In the event of loss or damage, recovery is limited to the amount paid by FAA’s insurer. The artist agrees to release FAA, its trustees, officers, agents, and employees from liability for any and all claims arising from such loss or damage.

If you maintain your own insurance, you must provide FAA with a certificate naming FAA as an additional insured or waiving subrogation.

5. Sale of Artwork & Commission

  • FAA will facilitate sales during the exhibit.

  • FAA retains a 30% commission on the sale price of any artwork sold.

  • You receive 70% of the sale price.

  • FAA will notify you after a sale and arrange payment after the exhibit closes.

  • If your artwork is not for sale, you must mark it as NFS in your submission.

6. Pricing, Values & Accuracy

  • You certify that all information submitted—title, medium, size, sale price, and insurance value—is accurate to the best of your knowledge.

  • You confirm that you have full legal rights to loan and exhibit the artwork.

  • Insurance value must match replacement value for FAA’s records.

7. Length of Loan

  • Artwork must remain at FAA for the full exhibit period.

  • Early removal is not permitted unless authorized by FAA.

8. Digital Signature & Acceptance

By checking the agreement box on this form and submitting your entry:

  • You acknowledge that you have read and agree to all terms above.

  • You understand this digital agreement replaces printed agreements.

  • You authorize FAA to include this agreement in your submission PDF for FAA’s records and your own.
