DUALITY

February 26 – April 12
Open Call | Juried & Judged Exhibit

Two sides of every story.

Duality invites artists to explore contrast and balance—the interplay of opposing forces that shape how we experience the world. Artists are encouraged to interpret the theme broadly, examining tension, harmony, and opposition through subject matter, composition, material, or concept.

This exhibit is open to fine artists working in a wide range of styles and media.

How Your Work Might Fit

Realism
Opposing subjects such as fire and water, stillness and motion, or natural versus urban landscapes.

Photography
Juxtapositions of light and dark, movement and stillness, or human and natural forms.

Abstract
Strong contrasts in color, texture, scale, or form to express balance, conflict, or opposing forces.

  • Calm and Storm – A sky or sea shifting between tranquility and turbulence

  • Work may be 2D or 3D in any medium, except video.

  • Hanging work must be properly wired and ready to hang. Sawtooth hangers are not permitted. Wires should not be visible above the artwork.

  • Work should be framed unless created on a gallery-wrapped canvas or other finished substrate. Wrapped edges must be finished.

  • Fiber art is accepted but must include a secure method to hang on the gallery’s hook system.

  • Non-hanging 3D works may be any size, provided they fit appropriately in the gallery, either free-standing or on a pedestal.

  • Attach a label to the back of each artwork (or bottom of 3D works) with the artist’s name and artwork title.

FAA reserves the right to refuse work that does not meet requirements, does not match the submitted images, or is deemed too fragile for display.

All accepted work must remain on exhibit for the full duration of the show. Sold work will remain on display until the exhibit closes. FAA will coordinate pick-up with buyers after the exhibit ends.

Unless requested otherwise, FAA may use images of accepted work for promotional and educational purposes, including the website, social media, and printed materials.

Rules

  • This is a juried and judged exhibit. Submission does not guarantee acceptance.

  • Acceptance is based on the jurors’ evaluation of submitted images in relation to the exhibit theme, artistic quality, and available gallery space. Selected works will be considered for awards as determined by the judges.

  • Artists are responsible for delivering and picking up their artwork on the scheduled dates or for making alternative arrangements in advance.
