Photography has the power to preserve a fleeting moment, reveal a familiar scene in a new way, and invite others to pause, look closer, and see through the photographer’s eye.

Moments in Focus is an open-theme members’ exhibit celebrating the diverse perspectives, subjects, and styles of our photography community. Member photographers are invited to submit work that captures a meaningful moment, place, detail, mood, or point of view. Images may be quiet or dramatic, personal or universal, realistic or abstract, local or far-reaching.

From landscapes, portraits, wildlife, architecture, street photography, still life, travel, nature, documentary images, and creative interpretations, this exhibit welcomes a broad range of photographic expression. The theme is intentionally open so each photographer can share the moments, scenes, and visual stories that have caught their attention and inspired them to press the shutter.

Moments in Focus will be presented at Frankfort Village Hall and will showcase the creativity and artistic vision of our member photographers.

Who May Submit

Open to active FAA Member Artists with an Artist-level paid membership
Each artist may submit one original work

Artwork Requirements

Wall-hanging work only
(No freestanding, pedestal-based, or floor work due to Village Hall restrictions)
Must hang securely from a single wall hook
Maximum size: 26" on the longest side, including frame
Must be properly wired (no sawtooth hangers; wire must not show above the work)
Framed work is required unless on a gallery-wrapped canvas or cradled wood panel (wrapped edges must be finished)
Fiber art is accepted if it includes an appropriate hanging method
Work must not be overtly political or controversial, per Village Hall guidelines

Submission & Acceptance

Artists must complete the online entry form and upload one image of the artwork
Uploaded images may be used on the FAA website and for promotion
Unless you are contacted otherwise, consider your work accepted
Curators reserve the right to decline work that does not meet requirements or is too fragile for display

Sales, Fees & Commission

$15 nonrefundable participation fee
Artwork may be listed for sale or marked Not for Sale (NFS)
FAA retains a 30% commission on sold work
Sold work remains on display for the full exhibit; FAA will coordinate pickup with the buyer afterward

Important Dates

Exhibit dates: July 1 – September 11, 2026
Entry deadline: Monday, June 22, 2026
Artwork delivery: Monday, June 29, 9–11 AM or 3–5 PM
Opening reception: Wednesday, July 1, 6:00–7:00 PM
Artwork pickup: Monday, September 14, 9–11 AM or 3–5 PM

Additional Information

All exhibited work must remain on display for the full duration
Artwork must be labeled on the back with the artist’s name and title
FAA may use images of exhibited work for promotional and educational purposes
FAA insurance does not cover artwork displayed at Village Hall

FAA Village Hall Exhibit Unified Loan & Consignment Agreement

*By submitting this form, you agree to the following terms for loaning and consigning your artwork to the Frankfort Arts Association (“FAA”). Submitting this form counts as your digital signature for all terms listed below.

1. Exhibition & Display

You agree to loan your artwork to the Frankfort Arts Association (FAA) for the full duration of the exhibit.

FAA will display your artwork in areas of the Village Hall that are open to the public. Visitors and building users may be able to view and may have access to the artwork.

FAA may withdraw artwork from the exhibition at any time for safety, space, or curatorial reasons.

FAA has the right to decline any artwork that does not reflect the exhibit theme, does not align with FAA’s mission, or does not resemble submitted images.

2. Delivery, Pick-Up & Handling

You are responsible for delivering the artwork to the exhibit site by the scheduled drop-off date and for picking it up at the designated time.

All shipping, transportation, and delivery arrangements are the responsibility of the artist.

Artwork left more than 7 days after the pick-up date may incur a storage fee of $5 per day. Artwork left for 60 days or more becomes the property of FAA.

3. Photography & Promotion

By participating, you grant FAA permission to:

photograph your artwork,
telecast or reproduce images for publicizing this exhibit,
include images in FAA’s newsletter, website, social media, and other publications,
use images for educational or promotional materials related to FAA and this exhibit.

Your artwork may appear in group marketing materials without additional approval.

4. Insurance & Liability (Village Hall Conditions)

FAA’s insurance does not cover artwork displayed at Village Hall or any partner building.

The lender understands that FAA’s insurance does not cover the artwork in case of loss or damage. The lender agrees that neither FAA, nor the partner building or entity, nor their employees or volunteers, will have any liability for damages arising from this agreement. If a loaned item is damaged, harmed, lost, or destroyed, the lender will not hold FAA responsible or liable.

If you maintain your own insurance, you may provide a certificate naming FAA and partner institutions as additional insured or waiving subrogation.

FAA does not accept responsibility for any lapses or deficiencies in your personal insurance coverage.

5. Sale of Artwork & Commission

FAA will facilitate sales during the exhibit.

FAA retains a 30% commission on artwork sold.
Artists receive 70% of the sale price.
If your artwork is not for sale, please mark it as NFS.
Payments for sold work will be issued after the exhibit closes.

6. Pricing, Values & Accuracy

You certify that all information you submit—artist name, artwork title, medium, size, price, and value—is accurate to the best of your knowledge.

You confirm that you have full legal rights to loan and exhibit the artwork.

7. Length of Loan

Artwork must remain in the exhibit for the entire scheduled period. Early removal is not permitted unless authorized by FAA.

8. Digital Signature & Acceptance

By checking the agreement box on this form and submitting your entry:

You acknowledge that you have read and agree to all terms above.
You understand this digital agreement replaces printed loan and consignment forms.
A copy of your submission, including this agreement, will be emailed to you for your records.
