Service Description

Create a cut-paper collage inspired by a meaningful place from your past—a childhood room, family gathering place, memorable trip, or another significant space. Over four sessions, you will develop the memory into a personal visual story using sketches, paper shapes, layered details, drawing, and writing. Day 1: Remember and Plan View and discuss collage examples, reflect on a meaningful place, and consider its viewpoint, lighting, surroundings, objects, and people. Create simple thumbnail sketches to begin shaping the scene. Day 2: Build the Scene Explore foreground, background, perspective, and basic shapes. Cut and arrange the major elements of your space, such as walls, furniture, trees, water, or landscape forms. Day 3: Add Personal Details Share progress and identify the specific objects and details that make the memory uniquely yours. Add smaller elements such as toys, posters, plants, animals, patterns, or other remembered features. Day 4: Complete the Story Finish the collage with texture, drawing, written details, and final adjustments. Participants may share the story behind their work or invite the group to respond with questions. No prior collage experience is required. This class offers a thoughtful way to revisit, honor, and creatively interpret a meaningful place from your past.
