Intro to Surrealism

Service Description

In this surreal still life class, students will transform ordinary objects by combining unexpected materials, forms, and ideas. Through drawing and painting, students will explore imaginative visual combinations, such as making fruit appear to be made of glass, merging objects into invented forms, turning a bottle into a skull, or placing an animal inside a bottle or drinking glass. The class focuses on observation, imagination, and believable illusion. Students will learn how to combine unrelated objects while considering transparency, texture, proportion, light, and form to create inventive and visually convincing surreal compositions.
